Social Worker for Domestic Violence Services

Safe Passage, Inc., a best in class social service agency providing regional services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence is seeking a full-time Social Worker for advocacy, case management, counseling and trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence within their southeast Indiana shelter program. Safe Passage has a positive, supportive work culture with excellent client outcomes.

Job Summary: Intake and assessment of DV victims seeking emergency shelter and supportive services including assisting in obtaining services from social services agencies, the criminal justice system, legal and medical personnel. Will provide counseling, court and legal advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, lethality assessments, and general case management to survivors and their families.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Social Work or related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.  Must possess a passion for serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence and the ability to work respectfully, non-judgmentally, and professionally with diverse groups of people and various populations in a culturally competent manner. Computer competency, CPR Certification, and valid Driver’s License with auto insurance required. Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays

Shelter Support Advocate

Safe Passage, Inc., a best in class social service agency providing regional services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence is seeking a part-time (appx 16 hr/wk) advocate for primarily night and weekend shifts at the Batesville, Indiana shelter.  Excellent entry-level opportunity for social work, human services or criminal justice students.

Job Summary: Crisis helpline response for domestic violence or sexual assault victims seeking emergency shelter, hospital accompaniment, and supportive services. Monitor security systems.  Assist clients in shelter with immediate needs. Light cleaning and meal prep in shelter.  

Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent required.   Good communication skills required.  Must possess passion for serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence and the ability to work respectfully, non-judgmentally, and professionally with diverse groups of people and various populations in a culturally competent manner. Computer competency and CPR Certification required. Must be willing to work varied shift with some weekends and holidays.
